Hello! Welcome to Sass & Cecile’s blog and thank you for stopping by! I’m Sass, and I started this blog as a photo journal of my daughter Cecile’s monthly baby pictures. I am not a professional baby photographer, sewer, or even crafter. I’m a normal Mom- just like many of you. In fact, I work full time from home in a completely separate industry. I wanted to catalog my first daughter’s monthly growth in baby pictures with cute, theme-inspired photos. When I have time, I enjoy brainstorming cute photo ideas, which I then make out of things I find laying around our home or pick up at the dollar store. If you ever have any questions about how I made something, comment with questions and I’ll link the how-to’s or where-I-bought-it’s. If you’re interested in having me create a photo theme for you and your little one- e-mail me @ sassandcecile@gmail.com
I love the hot air balloon! My daughter is using a hot air balloon theme for her 2nd daughter’s 1st birthday party. Could you please tell me what size beach ball you used for the balloon? Thanks!

Hi Janelle, I believe I used 46″ or 48″ from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Giant-Beach-Ball-Inflatable-Jumbo/dp/B00B7N5J14/ref=pd_bxgy_21_img_3/147-9092352-6681701?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00B7N5J14&pd_rd_r=c770c013-57ab-11e9-ae93-bfc8ab14b226&pd_rd_w=ZKRJ7&pd_rd_wg=5rTrJ&pf_rd_p=a2006322-0bc0-4db9-a08e-d168c18ce6f0&pf_rd_r=NWV0CA3NQVAC6VJ6BVXH&psc=1&refRID=NWV0CA3NQVAC6VJ6BVXH

Hi,
I love the way your hot air balloon turned out, and I’ve been trying to create something similar for my daughter’s first birthday. I’m having a difficult time with the spray painting of the beach ball. The paint never dries and it remains sticky. Did you find a good sealer that you sprayed on top? Any tips would be appreciated. Again, beautiful job on this project!
Thanks!

Hi Shannon,
I was initially concerned about the same thing with the paint never drying, but mine seemed to dry just fine after a few hours outside. Maybe check a variety of spray paint types and try a matte quick dry one? I also used regular old acrylic type apple barrel paints that you can find at any craft store on the beach ball and those dried easily too. this helped me touch up the ball and get the straight lines I couldn’t achieve with just spray paint. I hope this helps, happy crafting!

Thanks for your response. I ended up bringing the ball inside to dry. I think the cooler temperatures in the garage was the main problem. It did eventually dry out enough to work with, and it turned out pretty cute. Thanks for your tips!
